Motherly Love
He sat in a meditative pose looking at his hands, thinking about what had just happened.
He had gone to visit his mother, at the nearest mental hospital, there she sat, rocking back and forth and looking at the empty wrapper of a toffee with her head bent to one side, like a curious child.
“Hello mom.” He said solemnly, she was sickly and frail, as she was very picky about what she ate, if she didn’t like the food she was given she would go all violent and start throwing the food at her surroundings and fellow patients, which given their condition didn’t help.
She raised the empty wrapper towards him and smiling like he was a kid being given his favourite toy he took it.
He sat beside her bed, “How are you mom.”
She was humming but at the question she looked at him and made a gesture that he knew meant I am fine.
She pointed at him.
“Oh I am fine.”
On a nearby bed a patient started screaming, he was bound to the bed, patients who were a danger to others or themselves often were.
One of the patients bonds broke.
He noticed this and informed a nearby nurse, but by then another of his bonds broke, his hands were free, the nurse ran but it was too late, the patient freed himself.
The patient ran straight for him, His mother jumped in front of him, shaking her head, The patient lifter her with one hand and threw her aside, and proceeded to attack him, but his mother climbed on the patients back.
The patient clawed at her drawing blood but she did not let go until a few staff members came and restrained the patient.
His mother had just saved his life.....
